Having a space that inspires me is super important to me for a few reasons.

I have ADHD so I need something that helps draw me in and keeps me motivated.

I have mom brain...I feel like this reason is pretty much the same as my ADHD reason, in all honesty. I will also add that it's super nice having my own place amongst all the kid stuff. My own little corner of stuff.
Finally - my four kids and I live in a really small space (temporarily) so it is super important to me to identify MY SPACE, literally. Not just like I said in reason number #2 about having "My little corner" my brain really needs to see it as mine or my brain says "No space? No worky!"it's annoying.

So I'll go ahead and share a few of my favorite things, and give you a little glimpse into why they are my favorite and how they work in my life.

This has been the nicest little desk I've had in a long time, the size is perfect for the space I'm working with ! It's sleek and clean, sturdy, and not oversized but yet not so small that I feel cramped. I loved it so much I got my daughter the same one in black for her loft area and she loves it just as much. It was really easy to build and light weight enough for me to move around on my own ( which I do a lot because I get bored with the same scenery after a while.) It has served me well thus far and the price was doable on this single mom budget and every time I've checked on this desk it has had some kind of sale going on it.

OOOH this office chair , y'all should have seen how giddy I was when I found this one! I had been searching high and low for an office chair to fit my theme pink & white, and once I get on a theme it's an itch that is hard to ignore . I searched amazon for weeks (not exaggerating) I searched Homegoods, Tjmax , and Burlington and I just couldn't find one that I (A) liked or (B) could afford or felt justified in paying for. So around Christmas time this popped up on amazon and the price was so much cheaper than what I had been able to find. I'll be honest I still took a while to talk myself into it. With it being around Christmas I had a hard time buying something for myself instead of my kiddos , but I decided I had been looking long enough and it was within my budget - so Merry Christmas to me! I've really enjoyed it and the happiness it gives me when I see it with my desk is just lovely , it's like it calls to me and says "Hey girl come sit your tush down and do some work.". It was so worth the wait, it's well made, the color was pretty true to the picture, the price was affordable , it's comfortable (especially for the price) and I've really enjoyed it.

There is another theme going on here with the pink & white can you guess what it is? If you guessed clear, crystal, acrylic or anything along those lines - why yes you are correct. I don't know why I get on these kicks but they make me happy especially when I can find all the stuff to go together and match! I got the clear keyboard (link soon) for Christmas from my family , because they asked what I wanted and that was the main thing. Of course, now that I had a clear keyboard I needed a clear laptop stand to go with it - obviously...(can you say hyper focus?) . Once I found it I told myself I didn't really need it and somehow got it anyway and I'm glad I did because it has actually been very practical, it has cleared up even more space on my desk and the fact that it is clear helps keep everything feeling open. Not feeling claustrophobic in my space is a must, feeling caged kills my urge to be productive and creative.

***DISCLAIMER: The link above is not to this exact lamp, the one I have on my desk was bought at Homegoods, the link above is similar. That being said the lamp I have is a pretty good lamp it has served me well, the only real issue I have with it is that the "head" part can be adjusted but get's loose pretty quick, but it does the job and I like that it has a usb port, I was able to find the one I have for a little cheaper at Homegoods I believe it was about $16.

No link for that adorable little thing, I actually just got it from the dollar tree and last I checked they still had them and in some new colors and shapes. I got my girls some baby blue and purple squared ones.

YunzII Mechanical Keyboard

LOVE this magical transparent keyboard , I had been eyeing this sucker for about a year I went through (still in it a little) custom keyboard phase and watched a ton of videos on them and how to build them and everything and I saw a review on this one and it stuck with me. So I always kept an eye on it but couldn't ever bring myself to pull the trigger on it because it was a little outside of my budget because it was a more expensive want instead of a need like my desk. So when Christmas came rolling around and my family asked what I wanted I asked them to all just pool together and get me this. All things considered in the world of keyboards especially mechanical hot swappable keyboards this is not bad at all! It is currently about $64 for the crystal white switch and about $75 for the other two switch options. That is a whole rabbit hole I could go down but basically watch a few videos and figure out what sound you like more . Sound and feel also play a big part in my DESIRE to be productive, this keyboard makes me want to use it because I love the typing experience so I seek out reasons to use it...like now. I am so happy that I get to use it and the sound and feel of the keys under my fingers makes me giddy. Just because I'm a mom doesn't mean I can't have a cool keyboard they aren't just for gamers. Welp there it is - My Desk Stuff. So one thing I would like to make clear as I come to the end of this blog is that not everything was bought at once. As I have mentioned I am a single mom of four and on a budget so anything that I do get comes into my possession after a lot of window shopping, back and forth, searching, talking it out with myself and so on. Just about everything here was acquired over about a year and a half and I would sell some old things to get the new things I wanted and after I made sure it was within my budget. So don't feel discouraged if you are in the middle of getting your space looking right, most of the time it take a good bit of time. I am still working on making it everything I want to be bit by bit! I hope you enjoyed and found some things that might help you out with getting your space feeling nice.
